Pushchair Accessories - Changing Bags

You are going to need a baby changing bag that is easy to transport with you. Some families have more than one and keep them stocked up in the car, in the house and in their buggy. With a bit of careful thinking you should be able to get out of the house in under thirty minutes if you have the right changing bag.

Changing bags can be used for all sorts of baby gear. Some mums keep everything in the one bag – nappies, cream, nappy sacs, baby wipes, feeding bottles, bibs, baby's milk and dinner. And mummy's purse sometimes stays in there as well.

Look for a changing bag that suits your lifestyle – some mum's prefer one that can be slung over a shoulder.

Others prefer rucksack style changing bags and others like to use an ordinary carry handle bag. Whatever you decide make sure the changing bag is roomy enough to carry what you need but not so big that you have problems carrying it and your baby!

Many pushchair manufacturers are responding to this market and are providing stylish changing bags as part of the overall travel system package. Others have stylish changing bags that match the buggy but you need to buy them separately.

It is likely you will be using a changing bag for up to a year if not more so choose one that is made from a fabric that is waterproof and hard wearing and will stand up to being thrown onto floors, into the car and sometimes at the wall!

Check that it has a changing mat that is easy to use – some bags have integral changing mats that seem great as they are attached to the bag and unfold with it – but they can be tricky to get used to. Other changing bags have changing mats that slot into a compartment which are also great to use to protect baby's bottom.

You will change baby everywhere – in the home, in the car, out shopping, out walking so feel comfortable with your choice of changing bag and keep it fully stocked.

Some bags include a thermos bag to keep baby's milk cool and others don't, so bear that in mind.

Suggested Contents for a Changing Bag
